Know Your Medicines eBook shown on a smartphone, a tablet and an e-reader

About the eBook

Know Your Medicines is written as a digital-only book. It is not a printed textbook converted to a file — it is being structured from the start for reading on a phone, a tablet or an e-reader, with short entries, clear headings and quick navigation.

Why this book? In teaching and in pharmacy practice, the same gap keeps appearing: the information exists, but not in a form people can actually use. This book tries to close that gap for diseases, essential medicines and safe use.

Author's note

A note from Shakil Ahmed

I teach pharmacy, and I keep meeting the same moment: a student who has memorised a drug class but cannot say why it is used, or a patient who is taking a medicine without knowing what it is doing. Both problems come from the same place.

This book is my attempt at an answer — written the way I would explain it in a classroom, and kept digital so it can be updated as practice changes.

Current development status

Writing and structuring are in progress. Chapters, sample pages and the final cover will appear on this page as they are completed.
